Paragraph on Friendship
Man is a social being. He cannot live alone. The man who lives alone is either a god or a beast. He wants somebody whom he can confide in his troubles, consult in his needs and with whom he can freely exchange views. Friendship is intimacy and attachment one has for author. It is based entirely on mutual attraction. It has nothing to the self - interest ir bondage. A man makes friends, not for any stages will bring him but for its own sake.
We generally think that the persns who consort with us, humour us and flatter us are our friends. But all of them are not friends in the ture sense of the term. Most of them are fair weather friends. They us company so long as we are rich and prosperous. No sooner as we fall on evil days than they sesert us.
A true friend is one who stands by us, no matter whether we are a properity or adversity. He helps us when we need help. He comforts out counsels us when we lie "in sorrow deep distressed." True friendship is one of the blessings that this world can give us. On this amount we should take great care in choosing our friends. We should not like anybody on trust relying on appearances only. Before making hiends with a man we must consider the way they talk, behave and act. And when we have won true friends, we should take care to retain ever.
